The picture above is of a locally caught Brown Trout. These are found on the river Stour in Blandford Forum which is part of The Blandford Angling Club.
The Club has beats of water either side of Blandford running up stream to Durweston and down stream to Charlton Marshall.
On these water’s a good head of coarse fish can be caught and there are some large pike to be had in the winter months.
We hold a range of baits including boilies, maggots, worms and ground baits. Frozen baits are also available for sea fishing and dead baiting.
You can also find a range of new and second hand rods and reels in the shop, and we also offer rod repairs from eyes to broken sections.
Here at the shop you can purchase your day and season river tickets for Blandford, Sturminster Newton, Wimborne and The Spetsbury syndicate.
There are also game fishing lakes on the Wimborne Club ticket at Red Post and Rawlsbury lakes.
Bryan who works in the shop, has fished locally on the river for most of his life, and takes part in match’s and occasionally enjoys some sea fishing on the local coast.
